Chalke Talk 8: If it doesn’t look like Jesus it’s not God

All of Scripture contains valuable wisdom.  It is clear from the teachings of Moses that he had a deeper, more socially just understanding of what was right than did people of the surrounding culture.  But he also allows elements of his time-bound culture to be caught up in his teaching.

True revelation, argues Steve, comes from Jesus.  When interpreting the Bible he encourages us to do so through the lens of this maxim: if it doesn’t look like Jesus it’s not God.”

Do you agree with Steve?

Does this make sense to you?

What questions does it throw up for you?
